When putting on armor, you start by protecting the most vulnerable areas. The first piece of armor Paul instructs us to put on in Ephesians 6 is truth. He is telling us that the enemy can easily defeat us if we allow him to replace truth with lies and deception. In this world of misinformation and deceit, we cannot let go of the absolute truth of God’s Word!

What do you spend your time thinking about? In a world where over 2 billion people own smartphones, most of us spend a considerable amount of time online; in fact, we check our phones an average of 150 times per day! Although smartphones themselves are not evil, the enemy is using them to captivate minds, desensitizing us to tragedy, debilitating our creativity, and distracting us from the call of God on our lives. In this teaching, Pastor Meredith brings to light the battle for our minds and how we as Christians can grow and maintain our eternal connection to God in a world that increasingly attaches itself to that which is transitory.

A pastime growing in popularity, an escape room is an activity where participants are locked in a room and must solve clues in order to get out of the room before time runs out. Spiritually, we often walk into our own “escape rooms” and hand over the keys to the enemy. As we try to get out, we search for clues in the world instead of looking to God. In this message, Minister Jerard exhorts us to place our fulfillment and trust in God instead of the temporary pleasures of the world.

We live in a world dominated by the pursuit of dopamine. Whether social media, food, relationships, television, or music, the brains of youth and adults alike are being biologically rewired to pursue fleeting pleasures instead of long-term fulfillment in God. How should the body of Christ respond to this trend? In this teaching, Pastor Deena challenges us to consider our habits and the things we allow to dominate our attention, making sure that we are always ready to show others Christ.

One of the most dangerous hazards on the road is someone driving while sleep deprived. They are attempting to operate their vehicle as if they were fully alert but can’t because their senses are dulled. In the same way, there are many places in the church today where we are “asleep at the wheel.” God is exhorting us to wake up, for lives are on the line!

Recently at Christian Heritage, God has been speaking to us about coming to Him with a powerful, active faith, knowing that the things we are believing Him for will come to pass. Minister Jerard and Pastor Meredith continue on this theme, exhorting us to “stand up”—to put action behind our faith, expecting that God will move. Today is the day to stand up!

Church, we serve an awesome God! He has forgiven us, blessed us with salvation, protected our families, healed our bodies, provided for us—in fact, any good thing that has ever happened to you is because of He loves you so much! Let’s not get so caught up in what we want God to do that we forget to say, “thank You, Lord,” for what He has already done. Take some time this week to meditate on how much God has blessed you, and be grateful!

People of God, it is time! Those things you’ve been believing for; those prayers you’ve been seeking God about; it is time to activate your faith and believe that those mountains will be moved! Whatever you have on the altar, God is exhorting us to trust Him with a “now faith,” expecting that those things we speak will come to pass! Please hear this exhortation from Pastor Meredith!
